چکیده
This paper presents the evaluation of Stanford University Unstructured (SU2) open-source computational software package for a high Mach number 5 flow. The test case selected is an impinging shock wave turbulent boundary layer interaction (SWTBLI) on flat plate where experimental data Sch¨ulein et al. [27] used validation purposes. Two turbulence models, Spalart–Allmaras (SA) and k-ω Shear Stress Transport (SST) within SU2 code are evaluated in this study. Flow parameters, such as skin friction, wall pressure distribution profiles compared with values. results demonstrate performance at flow highlight its limitations predicting fluid physics. At higher generator angles, discrepancy between CFD more significant. Within separation zones, smaller bubble delayed predicted by SA model while SST predicts early separation. Both models able to predict correctly However, discrepancies were observed prediction friction due inability capture recovery after impingement.

Control of Nozzle Flow Using Microjets at Supersonic Mach Regime
This article reports the active control of base flows using the experimental procedure. Active control of base pressure helps in reducing the base drag in aerodynamic devices having suddenly expanded flows. Active control in the form of microjets having 0.5 mm radius placed at forty-five degrees apart is employed to control the base pressure. The Mach numbers of the present analysis are 1.7, 2....
متن کاملAMR for low Mach number reacting flow
We present a summary of recent progress on the development and application of adaptive mesh refinement algorithms for low Mach number reacting flows. Our approach uses a form of the low Mach number equations based on a general equation of state that discretely conserves both mass and energy. The discretization methodology is based on a robust projection formulation that accommodates large densi...
متن کاملRole of Turbulent Prandtl Number on Heat Flux at Hypersonic Mach Numbers
A new turbulence model suited for calculating the turbulent Prandtl number as part of the solution is presented. The model is based on a set of two equations: one governing the variance of the enthalpy and the other governing its dissipation rate. These equations were derived from the exact energy equation and thus take into consideration compressibility and dissipation terms. The model is used...
متن کاملA Naturalistic Open Source Movie for Optical Flow Evaluation
Ground truth optical flow is difficult to measure in real scenes with natural motion. As a result, optical flow data sets are restricted in terms of size, complexity, and diversity, making optical flow algorithms difficult to train and test on realistic data. We introduce a new optical flow data set derived from the open source 3D animated short film Sintel. This data set has important features...
